PM Narendra Modi announced in his speech to nation says India's Mission Shakti has shot down a Low-Orbit Satellite using ASAT missile
New Delhi: India shot down a low-earth orbit satellite in space. Actuate itself through an elite club of nations, which mastered this anti-satellite missile technology.
On this achievement, PM Narendra Modi has released his address to the nation on Wednesday. PM Modi, however, was to point out the intent of DRDO's "Mission Shakti " is to defend India’s space assets and not far start an arms race in space. Since there are no intentions governing the use of ASAT, India is not in violation of any international conventions.
On this occasion, let's see the brief of Mission Shakti.
Ø The use of ASAT seems as crossing new frontier like India’s 1998 nuclear tests. Anti-satellite technology has been in the hands of very few countries which includes: the United States, Russia, and China. The acquirement and demonstration of this technology make India a member of an elite group of nations.
Ø The fact that this anti-satellite technology ingeniously developed adds to India’s credentials, given that for many decades India had been kept away from acquiring key technologies, forcing that India to develop its own space and as well as nuclear capabilities.
Ø On of our government official who did not want to be named said: “This technological achievement will have many spin-offs that we can exploit for civilian commercial use ."
Congratulations to DRDO and All Indian having great achievements !!
